ABOUT
Lily Flynn was started as a way to showcase beautiful items that already exist – antiques and interesting objects which have been handed down by generations, having lived a previous life, being loved and taken care of, and ready to be preserved, reused and loved again. Part of this was built from my interest in these beautiful old pieces. I want to bring a little bit of beauty and joy to everyday life. As well as celebrating the connection that these pieces can give us with past generations and different cultures. Part of it came from my enjoyment in searching for unique pieces. I have always loved looking through vintage stores and markets and the thrill that comes from finding a unique and gorgeous piece.
I have always enjoyed being creative and prior to having my two children, I worked as a chocolatier in my own boutique chocolate business. I purposely kept this business small and sustainable, producing high-quality chocolates for weddings, events, corporate gifts and direct to consumers. In doing so, I knew that all aspects were done to the highest quality with integrity and love. Self-taught, through trial and error, I came to realise during these 8 years that the often-glamorised prevailing business tenant of growth was not for me. Rather, I consciously chose to keep the business small, which enabled me to ensure the product and service was unique and of the highest value.
When I first thought of the idea for Lily Flynn I knew that I would run this business in a similar way, aligned with my values, and that I would choose to keep this business small. In doing so I am able to offer the kinds of products and services that only a small business can: special and rare antique and vintage items personally sourced from faraway destinations and a more personalised service where the person you speak to can offer a level of care, continuity and level of attention that comes from knowing the ins and outs of every part of your order…one of the great advantages of doing business on a small scale. If you reach out via email, I will be happy to answer your questions and help in any way I can.
